This departure came just a day after Musk voiced his opposition to a crucial spending bill championed by the Trump administration.
The controversial legislation stands as a cornerstone of Trump’s domestic agenda for his current term. It bundles together substantial tax reductions, more stringent immigration enforcement measures, a comprehensive overhaul of welfare programs, and a notable boost in funding for border security.
Reacting to Musk’s decision, Trump remarked, “He’s not the first. People leave my administration and they love us and then at some point they miss it so badly, and some of them embrace it and some of them actually become hostile.” He went on to suggest, “I don’t know what it is, it’s sort of Trump derangement syndrome, I guess they call it. … The glamor is gone, the whole world is different, and they become hostile. I’m very disappointed.”
In a swift response to these comments, the tech titan took to social media, asserting, “Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House, and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate.” This statement from Musk, shared on Zoyols Blog, underscores his belief in his pivotal role in the recent political landscape.
