The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has issued a weather forecast predicting thunderstorms and rains across the country from Monday to Wednesday. According to the agency, the northern region can expect morning thunderstorms on Monday, with rains over parts of Taraba, Kaduna, Gombe, Bauchi, Kebbi, Sokoto, Katsina, Jigawa, and Kano states.

The agency predicts that the thunderstorms will intensify in the afternoon and evening hours, affecting parts of Plateau, Kogi, and Benue states.
In the southern region, a cloudy atmosphere is expected, with morning rains over parts of Ondo, Ogun, Edo, Ebonyi, Abia, Cross River, Rivers, and Akwa Ibom states. The rains are expected to spread to other parts of the region later in the day, covering states such as Oyo, Ekiti, Osun, Lagos, Delta, and Bayelsa.
The forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday follows a similar pattern, with thunderstorms and rains expected in various parts of the country. The agency has warned of strong winds that may precede the rains in areas where thunderstorms are likely to occur and has advised the public to take necessary precautions.
To ensure safety, NiMet recommends securing loose objects, avoiding driving under heavy rain, and disconnecting electrical appliances from sockets.
