PDP Opens Sale of Nomination Forms for Benue Local Government Elections

The Benue State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially opened the sale of nomination forms for the upcoming local government council elections. The announcement was made on Monday, August 19, by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Oryina Orvaa.

According to Orvaa, the Chairmanship nomination form is priced at ₦100,000, which is to be paid directly into the party’s account. Additionally, aspirants are required to pay ₦50,000 as an Expression of Interest fee at the party’s State Secretariat. The party invites all interested candidates to obtain their forms and participate in the electoral process.

“Councillorship form is N70,000 to be paid to the party’s bank account, with N20,000 as Expression of Interest to be paid at the State Secretariat.

“Female aspirants for both positions are, however, required to obtain only the expression of interest forms at the prescribed fees, as nomination forms are free for all of them.

“Sales and submission of forms shall close on Saturday, 24th August 2024,” the statement noted.

Orvaa confirmed that the screening of aspirants will begin on August 25, 2024, without exception.

“The screening of chairmanship aspirants will hold in Makurdi at the party secretariat, while the screening of councillorship aspirants will be conducted at the various zonal headquarters,” he outlined.

Orvaa further urged all party members to follow this directive closely as the party prepares to contest for all chairmanship and council membership positions in the upcoming Benue State elections.
