Former Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, has criticized Governor Godwin Obaseki for denying the All Progressives Congress (APC) access to public school premises for campaign activities.
During a ward-to-ward campaign in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area, former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole expressed frustration over the denial of public school premises for All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign activities. Oshiomhole, who now represents Edo North Senatorial District, noted that many of these schools were built during his tenure, making it particularly troubling that his party is barred from using them. He criticized Governor Godwin Obaseki, reminding him that his role as governor is a temporary position held on behalf of the people of Edo State. Oshiomhole boldly declared that the APC would proceed with campaigns at state facilities, daring Obaseki to intervene.
He said, “We will deny Obaseki the use of federal roads if he deprives us of using government schools again. Next time he stops us, we will enter and use the facilities.”
Addressing the upcoming election, Adams Oshiomhole announced that the APC governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, would participate in a debate with the PDP candidate, Asue Ighodalo. The Senator emphasized that the debate should be conducted in the Esan dialect and moderated by Esan people, underlining that “charity begins at home.”
