The 2026 Grammy Awards wrapped up with a night that celebrated range, dominance and surprise moments across the global music scene. Kendrick Lamar emerged as the standout name, walking away with five awards, including Record of the Year for his collaboration with SZA, Luther. The achievement further cemented his status as one of the most influential voices of his generation.
Top honours were widely shared among leading stars. Bad Bunny secured Album of the Year, Billie Eilish claimed Song of the Year with Wildflower, while Olivia Dean was crowned Best New Artist. The ceremony featured 95 award categories in total, with a significant number presented during the pre-telecast premiere event ahead of the main broadcast.
African artistes had a strong presence among nominees but left the ceremony without a win. Burna Boy, Davido, Ayra Starr, Wizkid and Omah Lay all missed out in the African music categories. South Africa’s Tyla claimed Best African Music Performance with Push 2 Start, marking her second win since the category was introduced.
