Nigerians are set to enjoy a two-day break as the Federal Government has officially declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
The announcement came on Monday from the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who extended his warm felicitations to Muslims both in Nigeria and across the globe on this important festive occasion.
In his statement, the Minister urged the Muslim faithful to deeply reflect on the core values of sacrifice, obedience, and unwavering faith that Prophet Ibrahim so powerfully demonstrated—principles that lie at the very heart of the Eid celebration.
Tunji-Ojo also used the opportunity to call upon all Nigerians to offer prayers for the nation’s peace and continued prosperity. He emphasized that national unity and a spirit of collaboration are absolutely vital for the country’s progress and development.
Reaffirming the administration’s dedication, the Minister highlighted President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, describing it as a people-centered blueprint designed to restore Nigeria’s growth and foster significant development. He appealed to all citizens to lend their full support to the government’s efforts in rebuilding the nation, confidently stating that “by working together, Nigeria can reclaim its place of greatness”.
