Dangote Okpella Cement is IMS Certified and Meets Global Standard

ZoyolsBlog

Dangote’s Okpella Cement Limited has achieved a major milestone with the successful attainment of the Integrated Management System (IMS) Certification, a globally recognized benchmark for quality, safety, and environmental management.

The certification, awarded by the Standards Organisation of Nigeria, underscores the company’s strong commitment to excellence across all areas of its operations. It confirms that Okpella Cement meets international standards for quality assurance, environmental responsibility, and occupational health and safety.

At the certification ceremony in Okpella, the Plant Director, Engineer Mohammed Ismaeel, described the achievement as the result of years of dedication and teamwork. He praised the staff for their relentless effort, noting that the certification aligns perfectly with the company’s vision to be a respected global leader in cement manufacturing.

“This certification is not just a document to display, it represents our promise to uphold the highest standards in product quality, environmental protection, and workplace safety,” Ismaeel said. “It reflects our shared commitment to making Okpella Cement a name that stands for trust, excellence, and integrity.”

He explained that the IMS certification brings several benefits, including improved business continuity, greater customer satisfaction, reduced waste, and stronger compliance with regulatory requirements. He added that it also deepens the company’s culture of quality while promoting sustainable growth.

The certificate was formally presented to the management team by the Head of Quality Control and IMS Team Lead, Mr. Anil Rao. Rao said the core objective of the IMS framework is to build a unified management system that ensures consistent product quality, environmental care, and safe working conditions.

He further explained that Okpella Cement’s IMS process was developed around three key international standards, Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS). The journey, he said, followed a structured three-stage process that involved capacity building, implementation, and performance evaluation before final certification.

The Okpella plant, owned by the Dangote Group under the leadership of business magnate Aliko Dangote, continues to strengthen the company’s reputation for excellence in cement manufacturing and industrial innovation across Africa.

With this achievement, Okpella Cement reaffirms its place as a driving force in Nigeria’s industrial sector, guided by innovation, responsibility, and global best practice.

Zoyols Blog reports that this milestone marks another step in the company’s steady rise to global recognition, strengthening its reputation as one of Africa’s most trusted names in cement manufacturing.
