Dangote Cement Plc has honoured its loyal distributors and customers with gifts and cash rewards valued at over N11 billion, a gesture aimed at recognising their contributions to the company’s growth and dominance in the Nigerian market.

At its 2025 Customers Awards and Gala Night held in Lagos, the cement manufacturing giant pulled out all the stops to appreciate its top-performing partners. Themed Let’s Acceler8, the celebration was more than symbolic—it reinforced the company’s commitment to collaboration, growth, and a shared vision for continued market leadership.

Among the gifts presented were compressed natural gas (CNG) trucks, product-loaded containers, and substantial cash rewards. The event underscored the company’s shift towards cleaner energy and operational sustainability, while also acknowledging the pivotal role its partners play in market expansion.

Chairman of Dangote Cement and President of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, expressed his gratitude to distributors for their resilience in the face of economic headwinds. He commended them for keeping the company’s products visible and accessible nationwide, a feat he said has secured Dangote Cement a commanding 57 percent share of the market.

“Our distributors have not only shown unwavering loyalty but also demonstrated exceptional commitment in ensuring our products are available across the country,” he said. “This partnership is at the heart of our success and has made us Africa’s largest cement producer. As a sign of our appreciation for your performance in 2024, we are rewarding you with gifts and cash totalling more than N11 billion.”

Dangote also emphasised the company’s commitment to continuous innovation, product quality, and market support, noting that the 2025 campaign is one of unity and collective growth.

Group Managing Director of Dangote Cement Plc, Arvind Pathak, echoed these sentiments, praising the distributors’ role in the company’s nationwide reach. He highlighted how their efforts ensured strong visibility and availability of Dangote products throughout 2024.

Pathak revealed that over 5,000 containers have been distributed to retailers in the past year, with another 4,000 planned for distribution this year. This move, he explained, is part of a broader strategy to deliver fresher, factory-direct products to customers while deepening retail engagement.

He also noted the company’s ongoing transition from diesel-powered trucks to CNG-powered vehicles as part of its sustainability push and alignment with Nigeria’s clean fuel policy. “We have already deployed over 3,100 CNG trucks and are targeting the full transition of our 7,000-truck fleet by the end of 2026. This shift not only supports our environmental goals but also strengthens operational efficiency.”

As part of this green transition, some top-performing customers were gifted brand new CNG trucks to enhance their business logistics. Pathak described the gesture as both a reward and a business growth enabler, reinforcing the company’s support for its partners.

Group Executive Director, Commercial Operations, Fatima Aliko Dangote, commended the exceptional performance of the distributors, noting their contributions were vital to the company’s impressive sales and market growth in 2024. She described them as essential to shaping public perception and demand for Dangote Cement products across Nigeria.

Aliko Dangote wrapped up the evening by urging distributors to continue pushing boundaries and aim for even greater achievements in 2025. The night featured multiple award categories, including the Regional Award, Growth Award, and Best Performing Customers, each tailored to spotlight excellence and dedication within Dangote Cement’s vast distribution network.
